SPB INSTITUTE

DISCIPLINE: Print Design

CLIENT: SPB Institute

DESIGN GOALS:

Create a three subway advertisements for SPB Institutes twelve month audio program.

Create a brand identity incorporating the logo.

Make the design clean, easy to read, and memorable.

SOLUTIONS:

SPB Institute had me design these mock subway advertisements during an interview. The challenge was designed to test my skills versus the other candidates. The objective of these advertisements was to advertise for SPB upcoming 12 month audio production diploma program. The program allows students to get a diploma in the audio industry in just twelve months. SPB Institute focuses on these advertisements to attract new students to their campus each year. I started with three images that embody the vision of the audio program. When potential students see these ads they picture themselves as the people in them. Happy having fun with an awesome audio based career. This excites students to get them interested in the program and to want to find out more. I then implemented that color scheme of the logo in the typography. This helps being a cohesive brand identity throughout the designs, while making them interesting and easy to read.

The program allows students to get a diploma in the audio industry in just twelve months. SPB Institute focuses on these advertisements to attract new students to their campus each year. I first started with images that relate to the program. The headphones, camera, and microphone are all key elements and tools in the program. The items get the students excited about SPB’s tech. I then choose a bright pop art colored background to maximize the contrast against the black tech items. These posts are simple, clean and effective.

SOLUTIONS:

SPB Institute had me design these mock subway advertisements during an interview. The challenge was designed to test my skills versus the other candidates. And test my skills in creating a brand identity across three different mediums. I then implemented that color scheme of the logo in the typography. This helps being a cohesive brand identity throughout the designs, while making them interesting and easy to read. Then I used the logos color scheme to enhance the titles and taglines fonts. I then sections the three main selling points of the program into three pop art colored overlays. The mixture of bright colors and over-layed photos give the flyer a sense of depth against the guitar amp’s grill background. The bold white font just pops against the background and enhances the flyer.
